Do You Have Any Persians Available?
How Much Is a Nautilus Persian?
Companion Kittens — $2,000 — regardless of gender, color, or parentage.
Companion Adults — $500 — helps cover spay/neuter, veterinary exam, and updated vaccinations.
Preservation Prospects — Individually Priced — select evaluated adults may occasionally be available to approved preservation breeding programs; pricing varies based on the individual cat.
How Do I Add a Kitten to my Family?
Step 1: Apply
The first step toward welcoming home a Nautilus Persian is completing our application.
Applications help us get to know you, what you’re looking for, and the type of home you can provide. Once approved, you’ll be eligible to reserve an available Persian.
If you’re interested in a kitten, you’ll also receive our Meet the Kittens emails when new kittens enter their preview period, giving you an opportunity to get to know them before reservations open.
There is no obligation to reserve once approved. Pre-approval simply means you’ll be ready when the right Persian comes along.
Step 2: Preview
At approximately 6 weeks of age, kittens are added to our website for a preview period before reservations open.
Approved families will receive a Meet the Kittens email introducing the litter, with photos and links to each kitten’s individual profile. Each profile includes information about the kitten’s developing personality, along with the date and time reservations will open for that kitten.
The preview period gives families time to get to know the kittens, explore their individual profiles, and consider which kitten may be the right fit before reservations open.
Step 3: Reserve
When the preview period ends, any available kittens will open for reservation on the date and time listed on their individual profiles.
Approved families may reserve the kitten of their choice on a first-come basis. A $500 non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure your kitten.
Once your reservation is confirmed, that kitten is officially yours to look forward to welcoming home!
Step 4: Watch Them Grow
Once your kitten is reserved, the waiting begins!
Your kitten’s individual profile will continue to be updated with new photos and videos as they grow, and we’ll keep you updated on important milestones along the way.
You’re also always welcome to schedule a video chat to visit with your kitten and see how they’re doing.
Before you know it, it will be time to welcome them home.
Step 5: Pickup
Nautilus Persian kittens typically go home between 12 and 16 weeks of age, depending on when each kitten is individually ready.
As your kitten’s go-home date approaches, we’ll coordinate pickup or transportation arrangements with you and make sure you have everything you need to prepare for their arrival.

Going home is a big transition for a young kitten. Your Persian is leaving behind the people, cats, routines, sounds, and surroundings they have known their entire life.
We’ll help you prepare for those first days at home and provide guidance to make the transition as smooth and comfortable as possible. And our relationship doesn’t end at pickup—we’re always here as a resource throughout your Persian’s life.

Priority Families
As a thank-you to our returning families—and because we love it when Nautilus Persians go home together—we offer an early reservation window to Priority Families.
Priority Families include previous Nautilus Persians buyers and approved families planning to welcome home multiple cats at the same time.
Their priority window begins when the Meet the Kittens email is sent and continues until the evening before reservations open to all approved families. Any kittens not reserved during the priority window become available at the date and time listed on their individual profiles.

Can I Come Meet the Kittens?
For the health and safety of our cats and kittens, Nautilus Persians is a closed cattery and we do not offer in-home visits.
We know choosing a kitten is an exciting and personal experience, so we’re always happy to share plenty of photos and videos and can arrange a video call so you can meet the kittens virtually.
When Can I Pick My Kitten Up?
Our kittens typically go home between 12–16 weeks of age, depending on their individual development. Our goal is always to place kittens when they are ready—not simply as soon as they reach a certain age.
Can I get a Nautilus Persian if I Don’t Live in Washington?
Yes! We place kittens with families throughout the United States.
If you are unable to travel to Washington, we offer in-cabin flight transport where we personally fly with your Persian in the airplane cabin directly to your closest major airport. Flight costs typically range from $500–$800 depending on location, availability, and time of year.
Families are also welcome to fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), where we can meet you with your kitten.
We do not ship kittens as cargo. Your kitten’s safety and comfort are always our priority, and we work with each family to make the transition home as smooth as possible.
How Are The Kittens Raised?
Our kittens are raised as part of our family, not in a separate nursery environment. From the moment they are born, they are handled daily and exposed to the sights, sounds, and routines of a normal household.
They begin their lives in the heart of our home—the living room—where they are surrounded by everyday family life. As they grow and become more independent, they are gradually given more opportunities to explore and experience their environment, eventually having access to our entire home.
We focus on raising confident, well-adjusted kittens through:
- Daily handling and interaction
- Early socialization with people and other cats
- Exposure to normal household activity, including children and small dogs
- Introduction to grooming routines beginning at six weeks of age, including bathing, drying, brushing, daily eye maintenance, nail trims, and facial sculpting
- Age-appropriate play, enrichment, and exploration
- Introduction to car rides beginning around six weeks of age, helping kittens learn that travel is a normal part of life for future veterinary visits, grooming appointments, and adventures with their families
We want each kitten to leave here not only healthy, but confident and prepared to become a beloved member of your family.
What Kind of Health Testing Do You Do?
We use Optimal Selection Feline for genetic screening. All of our breeding cats are 100% clear through either genetic testing or verified parentage.
We also occasionally run Pro-BNP testing as an additional screening tool for heart health.
In addition to health testing, all of our cats receive regular veterinary care and ongoing evaluation throughout their lives.

Can I Breed My Nautilus Persian?
The short answer is no.
All Nautilus Persians leave as companions and are altered before going home, or are placed under a strict SpaySecure contract.

The long answer:
Occasionally, we do place cats with breeding rights with established catteries whose goals, values, and ethics align with ours. These placements are carefully considered and are not available through our general kitten process.
Our breeding cats are selected with the future of the Persian breed in mind, and we are committed to supporting responsible preservation breeding.
What do you Feed your Persians?
At Nautilus Persians, our cats and kittens are fed a combination of balanced homemade gently cooked food and high-quality kibble.
In the morning our kittens and cats are fed a balanced homemade gently cooked food consisting of ground boneless skinless chicken breast and EZComplete Completor. For families interested in preparing balanced homemade food, you can find a how-to video here.
In the evening Our kittens are fed Royal Canin Mother & Babycat through 16 weeks of age and are then gradually transitioned to Royal Canin Persian Kitten and our adults are fed Royal Canin Persian.
What Litter Do You Use For Your Persians?
At Nautilus Persians, we use Tractor Supply pine stall bedding pellets in a modified Tidy Cats Breeze litter box system.
We chose this setup because pine pellets help keep our Persian coats cleaner. Unlike traditional clumping litter, pine pellets are less likely to stick to long fur and become trapped in the coat or tracked throughout the home.
Our kittens are raised using this litter system and are familiar with it before going to their new families. We recommend continuing with the same setup initially to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
