Meet Junior!
This handsome 1-year-old red and white boy is looking for his perfect forever home.
Junior had a very difficult start to life. He was the sole survivor of a litter of five kittens and was raised in an incubator, tube-fed until he was able to regulate his own body temperature, and weaned onto homemade cooked cat food. Because of this intensive hand-rearing, Junior is extremely social and deeply people-oriented. He loves being with his humans and is a true lap cat at heart.
We are very bonded to Junior from raising him and love him dearly. While we would happily keep him, our goal is to find him a home where he will receive the constant companionship and attention he thrives on.
Junior gets along well with other cats and has been raised around small dogs and our 7-year-old son, making him well-suited to a family environment.
Junior is very cooperative when it comes to having his eyes and nose gently cleaned, but he prefers to skip the combing. To keep him comfortable and happy, we maintain him in a comb cut.
Junior can be a bit particular about his litter box habits, so consistency with litter type, cleanliness, and placement is important for his comfort and success.
He does have a mischievous habit of chewing shoelaces, so we recommend keeping laced shoes stored out of reach.
We believe Junior will settle quickly into a new home, especially with a warm lap and steady companionship. As with any new cat, we recommend confining him to one small room (such as a bathroom or bedroom) for the first 3 days to help reduce stress and support a smooth transition. During this time, you can monitor eating, drinking, and litter box habits. It is normal for a new cat to take 24–48 hours before having a bowel movement in a new environment.
When introducing him to the litter box, gently place him in it a few times upon arrival so he can easily locate it. Most cats will explore first and use it once they feel comfortable. If any accidents occur, simply place the waste in the litter box to reinforce its location. We recommend keeping him in his transition space until he is consistently using the litter box.
Spend quiet time with him in his room, sitting at his level and interacting with toys and gentle affection. Junior is affectionate and people-focused and should bond quickly with someone who offers him calm attention and companionship.
Junior is neutered, fully vaccinated, and his rehoming fee is $300.
